Dr. Arvind Kumar Lal is working as Professor in the School of Mathematics, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, since 2007. He received his Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Mathematics from Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, in 1987 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from University of Roorkee (presently IIT Roorkee) in 1995. Before joining Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology in January 1996, he has also worked as Lecturer in Mathematics in the Technological Institute of Textile and Science, Bhiwani from January 1993 to March 1994. He has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses for more than 23 years at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He has supervised eight Ph.D. and fifteen M.Sc. students. He has published 51 research papers in the referred journals (27 in SCI and 24 in Non-SCI), completed five research projects and one is ongoing. He serves as Principal Investigator in all the projects.
